RD A5 WORLD ARCHITECTURE DAY: PARALUMAN PHOTO CONTEST

The Regional District A5, headed by its District Director Ar. Reginald T. Yaneza had their“PARALUMAN Photo Contest” last October 7, 2019in accordance with the nationwide celebration of the world Architecture Day with the theme:“Architecture...Housing for All”. “Paraluman” in Filipino means a muse that inspires someone artistically. Unlike most other photo contests, all sorts of digital manipulation and enhancements are allowed. This year, RDA5 focuses on the idea of urban Housing and Human Settlements by showing the different faces of housing conditions in the Philippines, and showing the importance of architecture in designing safe, habitable, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable, housing structures for all Channeling social media, technological innovations, and youthful creative passions to best use, in promoting consciousness on the value of the profession to society, is this year’s RDA5-WAD2O19 modest crown contribution.

The competition is open for BS. Architecture Students which came from key chosen schools to  reflect and identify the role of the architecture profession in developing safe, resilient, sustainable, and habitable housing settlements for the people. In this way, young, talented aspirants would be inspired to further study and improve the quality of housing facilities in the country when they become a professional architect. Hard copies of the 3 winner’s artworks shall be donated to Mandaluyong City’s Art & Culture Section, and endorsed for possible staple display at the Kaban ng Hiyas, for public appreciation. The winners are awarded with a cash prize and a plaque of appreciation by the Regional District A5 Council at Mandaluyong City Hall Lobby.
