UAP DISTRICT A5 TURNOVER CEREMONIES AND JOINT INDUCTION OF CHAPTER OFFICERS FY 206-2017


The UAP Regional District A5 is one of the regional district organizations that are the second largest of the twenty regional districts in United Architects of the Philippines with over 2000 members.
On August 18, 2016, at the historical venue of Club Filipino, Greenhills in San Juan, UAP RD-A5 held its Turnover Ceremonies and Joint Induction of Chapter Officers. The momentous event was attended by UAP National Officials as well as the Officers of RD-A5 Member Chapters of Rizal - Taytay, Pasig City, Marikina Valley, San Juan – Mandaluyong, Greenhills, Rizal East, Rizal – Kalayaan 100, Rizal – Cainta 101, San Juan – Pinaglabanan, Southern California, California 116, sponsors and guests.
Ar. Janice S. Rodriguez; UAP RD – A5 Council Treasurer   delivered her welcome remarks upon the opening of the ceremonies, followed by the acknowledgment of guests by UAP RD-A5 Council Secretary Karen T. Yong, while the Ar. Catherine S. Garcia; UAP RD-A5 Council Auditor formally introduced the Honourable Guest Speaker Ar. Yolanda David – Reyes; the Commissioner of the Philippine Professional Regulation Commission.
In her inspirational talk, she reminded everyone that it is the duty of all Filipino Architects to speak, think, and act of what is expected from a dignified professional, particularly in adhering to the code of ethical conduct.  She discussed to the audience the steps on how the Filipino Architects be recognized regionally and globally through the ASEAN and APEC Architects Registry. Giving back to the community also comprises the content of her speech. And finally, she encourages everyone specially the Architects to play a significant role on protecting the environment, as she quotes, “We did not inherit the earth from our forefathers, rather we borrowed it form our grandchildren.”
There was an accompaniment of musical numbers while the delicious dinner was being served. An audio visual presentation was played to highlight the various activities conducted by the UAP RD-A5 member chapters.
Right after the dinner, the program proceeds with the presentation of UAP RD-A5 Council Officers which was spearheaded by the UAP Area-A Vice President Virgilio D. Andres, Jr. The UAP National President Ar. Guillermo H. Hisancha administered the charging of the Council Officers. The oath-of-office was facilitated by Ar. Yolanda D. Reyes.
Ar. Froilan Troy P. Tecson, the outgoing UAP RD-A5 District Director delivered his valedictory address to mark the symbolical Turnover of the Ceremonial Gavel and Acceptance that was executed through Ar. Virgilio D. Andres, to his successor Ar. Rosario Q. Roxas who delivered her Inaugural Address as the new UAP RD-A5 District Director. Next was the presentation of the UAP RD-A5 Member Chapters’ Officers by Ar. Renato A. Heray; UAP National General Secretary, followed by the charging of Officers by the UAP National Executive Vice President, Ar. Maria Nina B. Arce. The UAP National President, Ar. Guillermo H. Hisancha administered the oath-taking rites for the new set of UAP RD-A5 Member Chapters’ Officers.

The glorious evening will not be complete without hearing the very motivating message from the UAP National President Ar. Guillermo H. Hisancha, who was formally introduced to the audience by the UAP Rizal Cainta 101 Chapter President Francis Lloyd E. Baclit. In his speech, he imparted to everyone the theme of his Administrations banner to Unity + Accountability + Professional Excellence. An excerpt on his message to UAP RD-A5 that reads;
“Your mutual commitment to the organization and with your individual capabilities as exceptional leaders are the reason why we are called to lead this great organization, and will always be the greatest attributes that would bring your District to continuing excellence and at the same time provide the entire organization the boost of encouragement to move on despite the many challenges we face.
Through your shared efforts you have become one of the best assets of our noble fold. Your district Induction signifies the same objectives and goals which are commitment, dedication and struggle for UAP excellence that best describe your District being one of the essential pillars of our dear organization.
To the new officers of UAP Regional District A5, let us embark on this new beginning by reaffirming what I know is the shared vision of everyone. Let us work toward a shared vision to build up a culture of excellence. I urge all of you to continue to display the boldness of character and strength of spirit that has defined UAP Regional District A5 from its very beginnings.”
Ar. Hisancha also shared a quote from a late young American Poet; Mattie J.T. Stepanek (Born on July 17, 1990 – Died on June 22, 2004) that says “Unity is strength…when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.”
It was also a night for Awards and Recognition to the remarkable achievements of the important guests and personalities which were facilitated by Ar. Rosario Q. Roxas. Acknowledgements were also given to the sponsors who continuously give their support to the success of every activities conducted by the United Architects of the Philippines. The closing remarks that signifies the closing of the ceremonies was delivered by Ar. Rowell R. Reyes; UAP Rizal East Chapter President. And finally, to cap up the evening with a touch of surprises and fun, interesting raffle prizes were given away to everyone.
