The Marvalley Board of Officers visited the Vice Mayor’s office in the newly constructed Legislative Building of Marikina last 29 July 2016. The chapter pledged support for the projects of the Vice Mayor’s Office. During the discussion, the chapter programs for the fiscal year were presented, such as The Annual Book Donation, Tree Planting, Medical Mission to name a few.
Vice mayor Cadiz encouraged UAP Marikina Valley’s partnership with the City Government for a possible joint project. A proposed bench project depicting the shoe industry inspired design will be installed in Marikina City’s parks and plazas and mini jeepney’s with access for Person’s with Disability was brought to the table for an initial idea. The chapter was endorsed to the city engineering office to coordinate and explore its possibilities. Both parties agreed that this will be a good way to help the city with its outdated benches and at the same time restore the image of the city’s shoe industry.
