Grass 2019 : Green Restorative Action And Sustainability Summit


Grass 2019 which stands for Green Restorative Action and Sustainability Summit was the first ever inter-organization summit in the country which comprises two (2) main events: Restorative dialogues and workshop, and Wawa dam restoration. This is their first event called ACTION 1: Restorative Dialogue and Workshop which was attended by Incoming Chapter President Ar. Ranier Biglang awa and Chapter officer Ar. Mary Rose Millan last April 27, 2019 at Philippine International Convention Center, in partnership with the LDG Architects, Green Architecture Advocacy Philippines (GreenAP), United Architects of the Philippines and UAP Balangkasan, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Philippine Association of Landscape Architects and Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers.


Aside from the professional organization in the built environment, landscape architecture and engineering professions, it was also supported by civic groups and NGO's such as Bamboohay, Anak ni Inang Daigdig and Philippine Native Tree Enthusiast. Also, private and government sectors became part of the event such as Boy Scout of the Philippines, Department of Tourism, Philippine International Convention Center, Department of Environment and Natural Resources. To complete the list, the student organization also participated such as Technological University of the Philippines and Ateneo de Manila University.


Marvalley Architects at FEU Thesis Deliberation

Graduating students from the Institute of Architecture had their Architectural Design 10 thesis deliberation last April 27, 2019, at Far Eastern University. The UAP Marvalley chapter Officers and board of directors serve as some of the panels of juries in the said event, namely: Ar. Jasmin Lee, VP for Operations; Ar. Jemimah Faith Buenaluz, alumna and board of Director; and Ar. Raymond Munar, also a Board of Director. Students had a chance to present their final requirement to the professors and guests and learned from their professional input and constructive criticism.

Chapter’s Comprehensive Planning and Discussion FY2019-2020


Last April 26, 2019, the UAP Marikina Valley Chapter held their comprehensive planning and discussion meeting at Kainan sa Bahaybahayan in Masinag, Antipolo Rizal. The meeting was presided by the incoming chapter president Ar. Ranier Biglang-awa together with the past presidents, officers and board of directors for fiscal year 2019-2020.


ICP Ar. Ranier discussed his proposed theme entitled "Marvalley MOVES: Motivated Organization with Valuable and Exceptional Service" along with its mission vision to the chapter. He also discussed the upcoming activities and projects in coordination with the UAP NAtional, A5 District Chapters, educational institutions and Local Government Units (LGU) in Marikina and other neighboring cities and municipalities. The meeting was sponsored by Boysen headed by its marketing executive, Mr. Ranier Paywan and the new marketing executive, Mr. Michael John Pacba.

10th Marvalley Board of Directors Meeting


 10th Board of Directors and officer’s meeting was held last April 16, 2019 at Mary Grace Restaurant, upper ground Ayala Mall Feliz, Ligaya, Marcos Hway, Marikina City It was attended by 14 BOD officers and Guest.

United Architects of the Philippines 45th National Convention


UAP Marikina Valley Chapter attended the 45th UAP NatCon and CONEX 2019. The three-day convention was attended by 43 delegates who participated in activities, seminar and exhibits. (April 11-13, 2019 at SMX Convetion Center).


The first day activities highlighted the Opening Ceremonies with Keynote Speaker Ar. Yolanda Reyes, PRC Commissioner, the talk on Urban Future Ready, the Honor Dinner, and the Fellowship Night sponsored by Dutchboy. Ar. Philip H. Recto was heralded as the 14th UAP Likha Gold Medal Awardee during the Honor Dinner.


On the second day, the delegates were divided in to three break-away groups for the seminars, wherein each seminar focused on the Architect as a Manager, the Architect as a Planner, and the Architect as a Builder. The UAP National Elections was held coinciding the seminars and the Annual Business Meeting was conducted in the afternoon with the participation of all chapter delegations. The day was capped by the Awards Night, wherein UAP Marvalley Chapter received the Award for Outstanding Bayanihang Arkitektura Program. Area A5 (wherein the chapter is a part of) wins the Outstanding District meritorious award for FY 2018-2019. Also, Area A wins Overall Champion for 2019 Arkilympics (being champion for Bowling, Badminton and Billiards). Ar. Lorie Villame, Ar. Jihrom S. Miramonte, and Ar. Virgilio A. Balderosa represented Area A for the Bowling Tournament for the 2019 Arkilympics and bags the gold.

8th General Membership Meeting


The 8th General Membership Meeting of the Marikina Valley Chapter was held at Industriya Marikina last April 1, 2019. A total of 52 members attended along with sponsors and guest.



During the event our sponsors had their informative and interesting presentation with Q&A after the talk.



Right after that is the 2nd part of the program, the seminar entitled "Basic Construction Safety and PPE for workers by one the board of directors, Ar. Frank Bautista. In his talk he tackled about the importance of educating safeness as to not endanger workers on site.


Moving forward the business proper, The Chapter Elected the new sets of national officers for the upcoming fiscal year. The present chapter officers and board of directors, together with the chapter past presidents and the members voted in unity. The night ended with the introduction of new members and greetings of  April birthday celebrants.
